I'm a Djokovic Fan

Novak Djokovic

I'm a huge fan of Novak Djokovic ever since 2007.  I even recorded his first ever Masters Title in Miami.  When I started to become a tennis addict, Andy Roddick was my favorite tennis player that was when he won the 2003 US Open.  I continued supporting Roddick until he started to fade away and Federer and Nadal took the limelight.  In 2007, I saw Djokovic play in Pacific Life Open 2007 wherein he lost to Nadal. I saw the potential in him that's why I'm really happy when he beat Nadal in Miami 2007.  I started supporting him.  In 2008, He finally won his 1st grandslam title. It was really awesome! Finally, a grandslam winner other than Federer or Nadal.

Djokovic's 1st Grandslam Title
From 2009-2010, I got a bit frustrated with his results.  He quits whenever he's about to lose.  I cannot find anyone to support other than him.  For me during that time, He's still the best player to challenge Nadal or Federer. Come 2011 was his year.  He won every single match in 2012 until the semis of Roland Garros.  I really hated Federer during that time because Djokovic was supposed to be the World #1 if he defeats Federer.  Despite my hatred, I still wanted Federer to win for the reason that Djokovic will be #1 if Nadal loses in the Finals. When Finals came, Federer loses to Nadal which made me hate Federer more.  After the French Open, I thought the momentum of Djokovic is already gone. However, in Wimbledon, he once again dominated every single opponent he encountered. He was able to reach the Finals!! (reaching the finals will ensure that he will be the world #1 no matter what happen).  Finally, after how many years of Federer/Nadal  dominance someone overtook them.  Djokovic continued his success and ended as the World #1 for year 2011 with 4 grandslam in his name now.
World #1 Trophy
By the end of 2011, I was able to book affordable tickets to Shanghai just in time for the Shanghai Rolex Masters.  I spent most of my 2012 in Singapore which is 3.5hrs away from my home country.  Despite the fact that I don't have my own television in SG, Their internet connection is fair enough for me to be able to stream all Djokovic's match.  2012 Australian Open was one of the best finals I've ever seen in my whole life. I almost thought Djokovic will lose it to Nadal. Thankfully he still won.  Fast forward to October 2012.
First Glimpse of Djokovic
Finally I got the opportunity to watch the Quarter Finals of the Shanghai Rolex Masters! I arrived in Shanghai Thursday Evening.  I just rested and proceeded to Qizhong the next morning hehe.  Just a tip! If you just want to see your favorite tennis players and get their autograph, just buy the cheapest stadium ticket or ground pass.  Shanghai Rolex Masters usually post their practice schedule with venue so you can simply wait there and see them up close while practicing.  Throughout the day, I was able to see Berdych, Murray, Federer, and Djokovic up close while they are practicing.  Watching Djokovic and Federer practice means I have to miss 2 matches in the main stadium because their schedule is the same as the matches in the main stadium.  I'd rather see them up close than from afar.  I was able to get an autograph from numerous Tennis Players and one of them was of course Novak Djokovic hehe.  I'll be back this year, 2013. This time I'll visit Beijing first hoping that Serena will play there and then proceed to Shanghai again. Hopefully Nadal will be present this time around.

2012 was another great year for Djokovic ending as the World #1 despite winning only 1 grandslam for the year. Anyway, 2013 just started and Djokovic once again won the Australian Open.  It sucks that I missed the chance to watch him live. I was in Rod Laver Arena a week before Australian Open starts. Oh well regrets. Hopefully, in 2014, I can watch Roland Garros or Wimbledon or Monte Carlo or wherever Djokovic will be when I visit Europe hehe.

To wrap things up. I'm a Djokovic fan. I hate it whenever someone goes against me.  If you want to irritate me just go ahead and insult Djokovic or support his opponent whenever he has a match.  Just be prepared for my reply whenever you say that in front of my face or wherever. Same goes for Serena Williams.
